Sai Pallavi in her first film: It wasn’t ‘Premam’!

Written by : TNM Staff

Malar Miss from the Malayalam superhit “Premam” is a character who has stayed alive in the audience’s memory long after the film was taken off theatres.

Sai Pallavi essayed the role with such grace and dignity that for many, no other actor can fill in her shoes adequately. The backlash against Shruti Hassan, who will be playing the same role in the Telugu remake, is testament to that.

But did you know that “Premam” was not Sai Pallavi’s first film? Here she is in “Dhaam Dhoom”, a Tamil film which released in 2008, sharing screen space with Kangana Ranaut and Jayam Ravi!

Watch:

Sai Pallavi plays Shenba’s (Kangana) friend. In this particular scene, she accompanies Shenba and one other friend to watch a pornographic movie in their village. Sai Pallavi has very little to do in the film.

There are other heroines too who have appeared in obscure roles in earlier films and then gone on to play lead roles – what’s interesting about Sai Pallavi is that she has barely changed anything about her appearance from then to “Premam”! And her fans love her just the way she is.
