Roshan Mathew to play lead in Anurag Kashyap’s next

Director Geetu Mohandas has announced on her social networking page that actor Roshan Mathew, who is part of her film Moothon, will be doing the lead role in a film by noted Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap.

Her Facebook post says, “When I was filming Moothon, I got close to all my actors, rooting for them and wanting the best to happen in their lives always . That ‘want’ will be forever. I’m so proud to announce that my actor and good friend, Roshan Mathew with his unbelievable performance in Moothon, has landed himself a beautiful project as the lead in none other than the maverick filmmaker Anurag Kashyap ‘s latest. The shoot commences tomorrow in Bombay.

Geetu who began as an actor and later turned into filmmaking is shooting Moothon with Nivin Pauly in the lead. Roshan too plays an important role in the film. The film is planned as a bilingual in Malayalam and Hindi, considering the talented cast and crew associated with the project. And Anurag Kashyap is penning the script for the Hindi version.

Moothon is a film about a 14-year-old boy going in search of his long lost older brother. The title Moothon means eldest son.

The film has three Bollywood actors – Shashank Arora, Shobitha Dhulipala and Harish Khanna – in important roles. It also has Sujith Shankar, Soubin Shahir and Alencier Ley in the cast.

National Award winning cinematographer and filmmaker Rajeev Ravi is cranking the camera for Moothon. Handling the editing department is Ajithkumar while Govind Vasantha is in charge of the music department. The movie is funded jointly by Bollywood filmmaker Anand L Rai’s production house Colour Yellow Productions and Jar Pictures. Eros International will be presenting the movie.
