The motion poster of actor Dhanush’s upcoming film Pattas released online earlier today along with the announcement of the film’s release date.

Pattas will be hitting the screens on January 16. The first single track from the film, Chill Bro which has been written and sung by Dhanush was released earlier this month and was received very well by fans.

Pattas is an action entertainer that is written and directed by R. S. Durai Senthilkumar and produced by Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan under the banner Sathya Jyothi Films. The film has music by Vivek - Mervin with Om Prakash cranking the camera and Prakash Mabbu in charge of the editing. Mehreen Pirzada plays the female lead in this flick with Sneha, Nassar, Munishkanth, Naveen Chandra and Sathish in other pivotal roles.

Dhanush is said to be playing dual roles as father and son in this movie. Sneha had been roped in to play the female lead opposite the older Dhanush and Mehreen Pirzada will be playing the female lead opposite the younger Dhanush.

Interestingly, Dhanush had teamed up with Durai Senthilkumar earlier for Kodi, an action thriller which released in 2016, and was seen playing double roles in it as well.

The actor’s last release was the romantic action thriller Enai Nokki Paayum Thotta. It is a romantic action thriller written, directed and co-produced by Gautham Vasudev Menon. The film has Megha Akash as the heroine with Sunaina and Sasikumar in pivotal roles. Rana Daggubati has made a cameo appearance in the film along with the director Gautham Menon.

Enai Nokki Paayum Thotta received a lukewarm response at the box office following which Dhanush is looking forward to coming up with a huge hit with Pattas.
