Written by : Digital Native

Allu Sirish’s upcoming film ABCD (American Born Confused Desi) was originally planned as a Valentine’s Day but it had to be postponed to March 1 due to various reasons. And now we hear that the release has been put off to 22 March.

ABCD is a remake of the hit Malayalam movie with the same title. The original version was directed by Martin Prakkat and produced by Shibu Thameens under the banner Thameens Films. The film had Dulquer Salmaan, Jacob Gregory, Aparna Gopinath and Tovino Thomas in the lead roles. The film was made on a budget of Rs 4.5 crore and collected about Rs 12.5 crore at the box office.

The first look poster of the Telugu version was unveiled some time ago and has garnered a good response from the film buffs. The poster features the film’s hero Allu Sirish in a stylish look.

The Telugu version ABCD is directed by Sanjiv Reddy who will be making his debut as a director. The comedy entertainer has Rukshar Dhillon playing the female lead with Bharath staging a comeback with a pivotal role in it.

According to reports, Rashmika Mandanna, the popular Kannada actor, has been roped in to play an important role in this comedy entertainer. Sources say that Rashmika understands that her role will be small but did not want to let go of the opportunity as it is a performance oriented role that would provide fodder for her acting skills. The film is being bankrolled by Madhura Sreedhar and Yash Rangineni.

On the remake, Allu Sirish had tweeted much earlier, “So my next film is #ABCD (American Born Confused Desi), a Malayalam remake. Directed by debutante Sanjeev Reddy & produced by @madhurasreedhar. Other details soon!”

It may be noted here that ace producer D Suresh Babu will be presenting the film.
