The Malayalam film Forensic was launched last month with the official muhurat happening in Palakkad and the shooting is in progress.  An update about this film is that Reba Monica John has bagged a role in it. A picture of the actor posing with Tovino Thomas and directors Akhil Paul and Anas Khan has been posted on the movie's Facebook page, with the caption: "The Bigil girl joins Forensic!."

Reba, who made her acting debut with the Malayalam film Jacobinte Swargarajyam, was last seen playing a role in the Vijay starrer Bigil that hit the marquee for Diwali. She had played an acid attack survivor in the film and captured the attention of audiences with her performance.

Besides wielding the megaphone for Forensic, Akhil Paul and Anas Khan have scripted the film as well. It may be noted here that Forensic was supposed to be directed by cinematographer Sujith Vaassudev but when he had date issues, Akhil and Anas took over.

Sources have said that Tovino will be playing a medico-legal advisor who works with the Kerala Police’s Forensic Science Lab and his character is named Samuel John Kaattookaran.

The technical crew of this entertainer includes Akhil George for cinematography, Jakes Bejoy for music, Shameer Muhammed for editing, Dileepnath for art direction, Sameera Saneesh for costume designing, Rajashekar for stunts and Vishnu Govind and Sree Sankar for sound designing.

Mamta Mohandas has been roped in to play the female lead in Forensic with Saiju Kurup, Giju John, Reba Monica John, Dhanesh Anand, and Anil Murali forming the supporting cast. On Mamta’s role in the film, the directors said earlier that she is not Tovino’s pair but will have a meaty role to play. The directors have not divulged any further details about Forensic so far. Tovino’s next film to hit the marquee will be Kilometres and Kilometres. The shooting of this film is over and it is in the post-production stage.
