It was widely reported that post Kabali, director Pa. Ranjith will be teaming up with Suriya for a boxing-based project. This project was also confirmed by the director himself while addressing the media during the Telugu audio launch of Kabali. However, in the latest turn of events, it has come to our notice that the proposed project won’t take off as planned for the time being.

Apparently, Ranjith has revealed that he has no project in the offing, and that his immediate goal is to focus on writing his next project. He will be spending at least the next six months on working on his script for his next project, which might only happen sometime next year. Ranjith has also denied rumours that he has plans to work with Ilaiyathalapathy Vijay.

Meanwhile, Suriya will start working on director Muthiah’s next, which will feature Keerthy Suresh in the lead. He also has plans to commence working on his Telugu film this year. Since he has already taken advance for the project over a year ago, he’s obliged to start work soon.
