Rana Daggubati to star in a biopic on Tiger Nageswara Rao

Rana Daggubati has had a very successful career so far with most of his films doing well at the box-office. His role as Bhallaladeva in Baahubali won him rave reviews and he has been on a signing spree since then.

With a number of films in his kitty, the star has reportedly inked the deal to star in a biopic. According to reports, a film is being made on the life of the notorious thief Tiger Nageswara Rao and Rana will be playing the main lead in it. The makers are planning to wrap up Tiger Nageswara Rao’s shoot within just 2 months. Currently, the film’s pre-production formalities are underway in full swing.

This biopic, which will start rolling from May onwards, will be directed by Vamsi Krishna and bankrolled by Anil Sunkara under his banner. Vamsi Krishna, a well known director, won the prestigious Nandi award for Best Story Writer for Govindudu Andarivadele in 2014 and his last film release was in 2017. Rana Daggubati, who will be playing the lead role in the Vamsi Kirshna directorial, began his acting career with the 2010 release Leader. He then went on to star in Bollywood flicks such as Dum Maaro Dum, Department, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and The Ghazi Attack.

Some of his films that did well in Tollywood include Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum, Baahubali: the Beginning and Baahubali: the Conclusion. He is currently busy with a handful of films in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi. Madai Thiranthu / 1945, which is a bilingual in Tamil / Telugu is a Sathya Siva directorial that has Rana playing the hero while Regina Cassandra will be seen as his heroine. The star cast also includes Nassar and Sathyaraj. He will also be seen playing a crucial role in the Gautham Menon directorial Enai Nokki Payum Thotta, which has Dhanush in the lead besides the bilingual Haathi Meri Saathi and the Malayalam film Anizham Thirunaal Marthanda Varma.
