Rana Daggubati’s new look is the latest topic of discussion among the film buffs. The actor has been refraining from posting his photos on social media giving rise to several speculations. According to buzz doing the rounds, he will be sporting a lean look for his upcoming film Virata Parvam 1992. As this is a period film, the actor was required to shed weight, say sources.

Incidentally, this is not the first time he is shedding weight for a film as he has done so for the NTR biopic in which he played N Chandrababu Naidu. Also, Rana had bulked up to play Bhallaladeva in the blockbuster series Baahubali 1 and Baahubali 2.

According to reports, Virata Parvam1992 will be a romance film, but will also have a lot of action and politics included to make the narration interesting. The film has Rana Daggubati playing a cop while Sai Pallavi will be seen as a Naxalite in love with the cop. The film is directed by Venu Udugula of Naadi Needi Oke Kadha fame. Veteran actor Tabu has been signed to play a social activist in the film.

Rana also has Haathi Mere Saathi in the making. The shooting of this film is on with the team reportedly completing its schedule in the jungles in Kerala recently.

The trilingual is directed by Prabhu Solomon who had directed the critically acclaimed Tamil films Myna and Kumki. Reports are that Rana will be gaining a lot of weight for Haathi Mere Saathi. We hear that he will be playing a mahout in the film and should be sporting a bulky look for it.
