Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh to team up for 'Vikram Vedha' remake?

Written by : TNM

Film buffs in Tollywood have always been waiting eagerly to see one combination on the silver screens, which is the uncle – nephew duo Venkatesh and Rana Daggubati.

Well, looks like this is all set to happen soon.

The buzz from the Telugu film industry is that producer D Suresh Babu (Venkatesh’s brother and Rana’s father) has approached the makers of Vikram Vedha for the remake rights.

Impressed with the storyline and the good box office record of the film, the ace producer is keen on bankrolling the remake, sources say.

It goes without saying that Venkatesh will be reprising the role done by R Madhavan and Rana will be seen in Vijay Sethupathi’s role.

Vikram Vedha is a cat-and-mouse tale of an encounter specialist going behind a gangster. While R Madhavan plays the cop, Vijay Sethupathi played the role of a gang leader.

Directed by Pushkar and Gayatri, the film was produced by Sashikanth under the banner Y NOT Studios.

The film released to packed houses on July 21 and has been doing well at the box office, following positive reviews and good word of mouth.

Sources in the tinsel town say that right after its release, several filmmakers from other film industries have evinced interest in the remake rights.

CS Sam has composed music for this film with PS Vinod cranking the camera and Richard Kevin editing.

The star cast of the film also includes Karthir, Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar, Sharddha Srinath, Prem, Raj Kumar etc.

With talks on to procure the remake rights, and Rana and Venkatesh reportedly agreeing to allot their time, if the project materialises, an official announcement is awaited.
