Ramya Krishnan to team up with director Krishna Vamsi

Actor Ramya Krishnan will soon be making a film with her husband director Krishna Vamsi. This is the third time the couple will be collaborating. The first film they worked together was Chandralekha (1998) before they got married while the actor later appeared in a guest role in Krishna Vamsi’s Sri Anjaneyam (2004).

The director has signed Ramya Krishnan to play the lead role in his upcoming film titled Ranga Marthanda. Sources in the know say that the film is the remake of the acclaimed Marathi movie Natsamrat. Further, award-winning actor Prakash Raj has been roped in to play the male lead in the film.

Krishna Vamsi’s last film was Nakshatram, an action entertainer written and directed by him, which released in 2017. The film was jointly produced by K Srinivasulu, S Venugopal and Sajju under the banners Sri Chakra Media, Butta Bomma Creations and Win Win Win Creations. The film starred Sundeep Kishan in the lead role with Sai Dharam Tej in an extended cameo. Tanish, Regina Cassandra, Pragya Jaiswal, Prakash Raj, JD Chakravarthy and Sivaji Raja formed the rest of the star cast. It has been two years since the release of Nakshatram and film buffs have been waiting eagerly for news on the director’s next. With the announcement that his upcoming film will feature the talented Ramya Krishnan, fans are excited.

It may be noted here that Ramya Krishnan is currently busy with the Telugu flick Romantic. It is directed by Anil Paduri and has been written by Puri Jagannadh. The film’s star cast also includes Mandira Bedi and Divyadarshini aka DD in pivotal roles. Romantic, which is bankrolled by Puri Jagannadh and Charmme under their Puri Connects banner, is Akash Puri’s second film. The first look poster of Romantic was released a few days ago and turned out to be the talk of the town.
