Rajinikanth’s pic removed from ‘Bigg Boss Tamil’ house?

Written by : Digital Native

Reality show Bigg Boss Tamil aired on Star Vijay has always attracted controversy and looks like season 3 will be no different. While news about the contestants for the show is making the rounds, controversy has erupted over the removal of a large portrait of Superstar Rajinikanth’s look from Petta from the Bigg Boss 3 house.

A few media persons were given a tour inside the Bigg Boss 3 house recently and many revealed that two pics – one of Kamal Haasan from Virumaandi and Rajini from Petta – were seen adorning one of the walls of the house.

However, when the show was telecast, Rajini’s portrait was missing, much to the shock of Superstar fans. While several of his hardcore fans are reacting to it with condemnation, actor and musician Premji Amaren has said that though the pic was removed from the Bigg Boss house, Rajini will always find a special place in the hearts of his fans worldwide.

Sources told Dtnxt, “Rajini’s image shows him smoking a cigarette. That’s one of the reasons why the creative team of the show decided to remove it. However, the fans took it personal.”

It may be noted here that Kamal Haasan had hosted the first two seasons of the show and is hosting the current third season as well. While Bigg Boss season 1 had 19 participants and the second had 16, this time around the show has 15 participants and 2 special entries who will come in later.

The show landed in controversy even before it aired, when an advocate from Chennai named Sudhan filed a petition asking for a ban on the reality show. When the case came up for the hearing last Wednesday, Justice Manikumar and Subramaniam Prasad had issued notices to nine respondents, including the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), and posted the next hearing in two weeks.
