Rajinikanth’s Kabali all set to release in June

Written by : TNM

Rajinikanth’s highly-awaited project Kabali, produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu is likely to release on June 3.

The superstar has taken a short break from Shankar’s magnum opus ‘2.o’ and started dubbing for Kabali from Monday at Le Magic Lantern, a popular preview theater in Chennai.

“The post production is inching towards completion. Editing work is by national award-winning filmmaker Praveen KL and the DI process is happening simultaneously with director Pa. Ranjith overseeing it,” says a source in the unit.

Sources add that a 60-second teaser will be released on May 1, which will also be along with Suriya's '24', releasing on May 6.

Kalaipuli S Thanu is planning to conduct the audio launch in Malaysia since major portions of the film have been shot in the country. Earlier, Sun Pictures organized the audio launch of Rajinikanth’s big-budget extravaganza ‘Endhiran’ in Malaysia and the event was hugely successful.

Billed as a gangster drama, Kabali has Rajinikanth essaying the titular role of an aged gangster.  It also features Radhika Apte, Dhansika, Kalaiarasan of ‘Madras’ fame, Dinesh, Nassar and John Vijay in important roles. The music for the film is composed by Santhosh Narayanan.
