Rajinikanth congratulates Vishal for win in TN film producers’ council elections

Written by : TNM

Actor Rajinikanth congratulated Vishal and team for their victory in the recent Tamil Film Producers’ Council elections.

In a letter dated April 6, the 'Superstar' congratulated the TFPC President Vishal, Vice Presidents Gautham Menon and Prakash Raj, Honorary Secretaries KE Gnanavel Raja and Kathiresan, Treasurer SR Prabhu and the Office Bearers for the massive win.

Apart from the wishes, Rajini also requested the newly-elected team to ensure that all the issues that have been plaguing the producer council are taken care of.

Vishal, who contested the Producers’ Council elections for the President post, won by a margin of 154 votes. The election was held on April 2, at the Kandasamy Naidu College in Chennai and the results were declared on the same day.

Soon after his victory, Vishal said that the first issue in his agenda would be the farmers’ issue and he will ensure their protest, demanding waiver of loans among other things, turns out to be a success.

He has also stated that he would do everything within his power to help the poor and needy farmers.

Vishal, it may be noted here, had to seek legal recourse to contest in the Producers’ Council elections and was finally able to do so, with the intervention of a court.

Vishal is the General Secretary of the South Indian Film Artistes Association as well.

Having promised a building complex for the Nadigar Sangam, which was topmost in his election agenda, Vishal did keep his promise and construction work begun recently.

The actor says that he has many more plans for the welfare of the film fraternity and a few of the announcements he had made in this regard includes a monthly allowance of Rs 12,500 to producers over 80 years.
