Superstar Rajinikanth was recently in the midst of a controversy, with a farmers’ collective declaring its intention to launch a protest outside the actor’s house.

The Desiya Thenmaanila Nadhigal Inaippu Vivasaayigal Sangam has claimed that the Rajini failed to keep his promise of financial support of Rs one crore for a project to interconnect rivers in the state.

However, Rajinikanth's elder brother Sathyanarayana Rao, recently said that the superstar has already deposited the amount for the project. Speaking to media persons in Thanjavur recently, Sathyanarayana said, “Rajinikanth has already deposited the promised amount of Rs one crore in the bank. The fund will automatically reach the government when the project gets initiated.”

He also dismissed the rumours around Rajini’s health, and clarified, “Rajinikanth is healthy. He has gone to the US for a regular check up and holiday and will return to India before the release of his upcoming film ‘Kabali’.”
