Rajamouli says he can't make comedies

Written by : TNM

Known for churning out mega blockbusters such as Baahubali, Magadheera and Eega, filmmaker S.S Rajamouli made a startling revelation at a recent event.

Speaking at the audio launch of actor-filmmaker Srinivas Avasarla's upcoming directorial, Jo Achuthananda, the Yama Donga director revealed he can't make comedies unlike many of his contemporaries.

Although he didn't explain why he couldn't make comedies, he openly admitted that he's incapable of working in the genre, much to the surprise of everybody present at the event. While one can't ignore the brief portions of comedy in his film Maryada Ramanna, he said he could never make a full-length comedy.

At the event, he revealed that he quite liked the trailer of Jo Achuthananda, and heaped praise on the chemistry shared by Nara Rohith, Naga Shourya and Regina Cassandra in the film.

Busy filming the climax portion of Baahubali 2, Rajamouli has been keenly watching several new Telugu films and has been appreciative of them despite his packed schedule.
