Rahman teams up with Rajeev Menon for nephew GV Prakash’s next

Written by : TNM Staff

Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman is set to team up for the third time with cinematographer-turned-director Rajeev Menon for nephew GV Prakash's yet-untitled next project. Menon’s last Tamil film, Kandukondain Kandukondain — which brought together a highly memorable galaxy of stars including Ajith, Tabu, Aishwarya Rai, Mammootty and Abbas — had also received acclaim for the music Rahman delivered.

The music director had previously delivered another scintillating album for Menon’s other big Tamil hit, Minsaara Kanavu.

This yet-to-be-named project marks the comeback of one of Kollywood's most loved director-musician combos. GV Prakash has revealed that Rahman has already finished composing two songs for the film, which is expected to go on the floors once GVP completes his ongoing assignments.

Currently, he is busy shooting director Rajesh's Kadavul Irukaan Kumaaru, where he shares screen space with RJ Balaji for the first time. While his long-pending campus thriller Pencil is due for release soon, GVP also has Enakku Innoru Per Irukku with Lyca Productions’ director Sam Anton and Bruce Lee with Kenanya Films’ director Prashanth Pandiraj under various stages of post production.

"GV Prakash's film with Rajeev Menon will have the best technicians from the country. It will also be the most expensive project in his acting career so far," says a source close to Prakash.
