Puri Jagannadh’s film with Chiranjeevi might be revived

Written by : TNM

Filmmaker Puri Jagannadh, who is currently busy wrapping up Kalyanram starrer Ism, was originally supposed to direct Chiranjeevi’s highly anticipated 150th film. Chiranjeevi turned down Puri’s script as he was unhappy with the film’s second half and despite waiting for six months, Puri couldn’t rework the script much to the disappointment of the veteran star. Eventually, Chiranjeevi went on to choose V.V Vinayak over Puri and started working on the remake of Kaththi. However, Ram Charan had apparently promised Puri that he will give him another opportunity to work with his father.

According to reliable sources, the project that was shelved could be revived anytime soon. It turns out; Puri recently narrated the second half to Chiranjeevi who, upon listening to it, expressed willingness to collaborate. However, it has to be decided when this project will exactly go on the floors as the 60-year old star will be busy with Kaththi remake for the rest of the year.

The source added that never has Chiranjeevi given any director a second chance to impress him with a script. Puri was an exception because his son had promised him, and Chiranjeevi wanted to keep his son’s word.
