Priyanka Chopra shows how it's handled on American show "Chelsea"

Written by : TNM Staff

Actor Priyanka Chopra’s string of interviews with the who’s who of American TV hosts has made us sit up, watch and nitpick the accents and childhood stories as we do with all Indian actors making a splash abroad. But with every tough question that’s been directed at her, she has had the last laugh.

On American presenter Chelsea Handler’s show “Chelsea”, the typical prodding on her childhood growing up in India and in Queens, New York, went as smooth as it could. But the real zinger Chopra delivered was to a question on her knowledge of English. Watch Priyanka coolly answer, then throw some figures that googly the host a bit.

Here’s how the exchange went.

Chelsea Handler: And did you know English when you came over?

Priyanka Chopra: Yes, another fact, 10% of India probably speaks English which is 1.3 million people, which is more than most nations. When you go to India you’ll encounter most people speaking English. My first language is Hindi and English.

There was neither a patronizing tone from Handler or Chopra’s end.

When it comes to talk show questions, Priyanka’s truly a smooth handler.
