Prithviraj’s upcoming film 9 / Nine is all set to hit the marquee on November 16th, and it is now in post production stage. The star took to his official social media account to reveal, “Post production of #9 is in progress..and the trailer will soon be out. We hope to bring you a wholesome, new and totally entertaining cinematic experience.”
It is an important film in Prithviraj’s career as he is producing the venture under his own banner. The film is a sci-fi thriller that has the star playing a scientist.
Directed by Jenuse Mohammad, it stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Prakash Raj, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Mamta Mohandas in the lead roles. Nine’s technical crew includes Shaan Rahman for composing music for the songs while Sekhar Menon will be doing the music composition for background score. Abinandhan Ramanujam is cranking the camera for this venture and Shameer Muhammed is the editor. The character posters of the film were released and it was revealed that Wamiqa Gabbi plays the role of Eva while Mamta Mohandas will be seen as Annie.
The film is being bankrolled by Prithviraj’s wife Supriya Menon under the banner SPE Films India. It will be distributed by Sony Pictures which will mark the production and distribution house’s entry into the Malayalam film industry. The film’s shooting began in April this year.
Meanwhile, the shooting of Prithiviraj’s maiden directorial Lucifer, which began in July this year, is still under progress, with plans to shoot extensively at different locations in Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai and Kuttikkanam. With the current schedule wrapped up recently, Prithviraj revealed that the second schedule will begin next week. Mohanlal plays the lead role in this film. Other actors Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, and Saniya Iyappan. Veteran director Fazil, Prithviraj’s brother Indrajith Sukumaran and Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi are also part of the cast. If sources are anything to go by Mohanlal will be seen playing a politician and he will be essaying a character named Stephen Nadumballi in this much-awaited movie.
