Prithviraj to Nivin Pauly, wishes pour in for Mohanlal's 61st birthday

On the occasion of Mollywood star Mohanlal’s 61st  birthday, fans and his co-stars showered him with heartfelt wishes on social media. Mohanlal, who is fondly known to fans as ‘Lalletan’, is one of the most influential actors of Mollywood.  According to reports, the star celebrated his birthday with family and close friends at his Chennai residence. Some of the images from his birthday bash have gone viral on social media. The viral images include Mohanlal enjoying a slice of his birthday cake. The actor is seen sporting a new look in a long beard, scarf and French beret hat, hinting that he might be sporting such a mystic look in his directorial debut Barroz in which he is also acting. 

Many celebrities, who have shared the screen with Mohanlal, penned heartfelt wishes and shared their experience working with him.  Prithviraj Sukumaran, who made his directorial debut starring Mohanlal in the lead, shared a picture from the first day of Lucifer shoot and wrote, “This was Day 1 of Lucifer shoot. If not for the pandemic, we should have been shooting Empuraan by now. Will hopefully get there soon enough. Happy birthday Stephen! Happy birthday AbRaam. Happy birthday Laletta!  @mohanlal.” Interestingly, Prithviraj will be seen in a pivotal role in Mohanlal’s directorial debut Barroz. 

Indrajith Sukumaran shared an image from the shoot of upcoming Malayalam movie Ram, where he is seen alongside Mohanlal and conveyed his wishes to “Laletta”. 

Actor Sunny Wayne shared a collage of screenshots featuring Mohanlal’s close-up shots from an old movie to wish the star on his birthday. The image features Mohanlal displaying a wide range of emotions at ease.  

Tovino shared an image of himself and Mohanlal, where both of them are seen wearing black shirts. The duo shared the screen in the 2014 Malayalam movie Koothara. 

“Happy birthday to the most naturally talented actor and the complete human being @Mohanlal Wishing nothing but the best for you,” popular Tollywood actor Venkatesh Daggubati wrote, wishing Mohanlal on his birthday.  

Suresh Gopi who has been Mohanlal’s co-star in several movies, shared a collage of various images where the duo have shared the screen. “Happy birthday dear Lal,” Suresh Gopi’s tweet read.

Others including actors Nivin Pauly, Radikaa Sarathkumar and Manjima Mohan penned lovely wishes on social media to wish the acclaimed actor on his birthday.  

Fans have been using hashtags such as #HappyBirthdayLalettan, #HappyBirthdayMohanlal and #TheCompleteActor to extend their wishes to the actor on social media. Many of his followers and fans have also been circulating a Common Display Picture (CDP) to commemorate Mohanlal’s 61st birthday.  

On the professional front, Mohanlal will be next seen in the Unnikrishnan directorial Aaraattu. The teaser was unveiled on April 14, marking the festival of Vishu. He is also currently working on his directorial debut Barroz. The project is in the production phase at the moment.
