‘Premam’ team in ‘Mariyam Vannu Vilakkoodhi’

Dulquer Salmaan released the second look poster of Mariyam Vannu Vilakkoodhi on his social media page and it has garnered the attention of the cinephiles on a big scale. The second look poster is interesting and shows the lead characters struggling with a huge pizza!

Mariyam Vannu Vilakkoodhi is directed by Jenith Kachappilly and he has co-written the film with Arun Padathu. The film’s cast comprises Basil Joseph, Althaf Salim, Baiju, Siju Wilson, SV Krishna Shankar, Sethu Lakshmi, Sidhartha Siva, Shabareesh Varma, Shiyas KA, and Irena Mihalkovich. Mariyam Vannu Vilakkoodhi is bankrolled by Rajesh Augustine with Srijith Babu, Captain Bipin Rajendran, and Sunil Kumar Vakeel co-producing it.

The technical crew of the film includes Prashant Pillai for music, Vinayak Sasikumar for lyrics, Sinoj P Ayyappan for cinematography, and Appu N Bhattathiri for editing.

The filmmakers initially titled the film Mandhakini but later changed it to Mariyam Vannu Vilakkoodhi to avoid confusion with other films having similar names. Incidentally, the four lead actors in the film - Siju Wilson, Krishna Shankar, Althaf Salim and Shabareesh Varma – have come together for Premam, a musical romantic drama, which went on to become a cult hit.

Premam, released in 2015, was written, edited, and directed by Alphonse Puthren. It was bankrolled by Anwar Rasheed for Anwar Rasheed Entertainment and starred Nivin Pauly, Sai Pallavi, Madonna Sebastian and Anupama Parameswaran in the lead roles. Seventeen actors debuted in this film. Premam’s box office records have been impressive with a 151- day run in Kerala and 259-day run in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The film was remade in Telugu in 2016 with the same name.
