Pranav did all the precarious stunts by himself in 'Aadhi', says director

Director Jeethu Joseph is busy wielding the megaphone for Aadhi, which will mark Pranav Mohanlal’s debut in the film industry as an actor.

While Mohanlal’s fans and movie buffs are waiting eagerly to see the young star kid in action, Jeethu Joseph was all praises when asked about Pranav during an interview to Malayala Manorama. Interestingly, Pranav worked as the director’s assistant in a few films before deciding to don the greasepaint.

In the interview, Jeethu Joseph pointed out that the Malayalam film industry would get an exceptional actor if Pranav decides to continue acting. He added that the young actor’s skills would get polished as he goes on to act in more movies. Stating that Aadhi would be high on action sequences, Jeethu revealed that although Pranav’s father Mohanlal wanted him to use dupes for the high-octane stunts, Pranav preferred to do it by himself.

Director Jeethu Joseph said: "A training discipline called Parkour has been used in Aadhi, but the movie is not entirely about it. This action discipline which is widely used in Hollywood is featured in Aadhi also. A group from France has trained Pranav in this discipline. Appu has performed the action sequences with perfection. Mohanlal is somebody who tries to avoid using dupes in his movies. But he told to hire dupes to perform action sequences in Aadhi. Pranav was not interested in that either as he liked to perform the stunts all by himself. There was a dupe to stand in with the team from France. There was a dupe to stand in with the team from France. But Appu performed his stunts himself except for one scene.”

Aadhi, an action thriller produced by Anthony Perumbavoor under his banner Aashirvad Cinemas, is due to hit the silver screens on January 26, 2017.
