PM Modi joins LinkedIn? On look out for a job?

Written by : TNM

The News Minute | October 9, 2014 | 05:24 pm IST 'Dynamic, dedicated and determined'- these are but just a few words used to describe the individual who recently joined LinkedIn, a social networking site for professionals. This ‘people’s leader’ has a 'powerful, personal connect on the ground' which 'is complemented by a strong presence online'. A potential employee? Perhaps. In this case, however, it is not the potential employee, but employers who will need to put in a lot of hard work ( and prayers ) to stand any chance of roping in the 64-year-old guy. Too old? But don't they say age is just a number?  The 'embodiment of courage, compassion and conviction, on whom the nation has bestowed its mandate' is none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi. ( It is, however, unclear whether this is the official account of PM Modi. )With over 77,000 followers already, Modi is a LinkedIn Influencer. His account has a 350-word description about him, stressing on his 'contribution' to India and the 'paradigm shift' he has brought about in people's lives. The former Chief Minister of Gujarat is well-known for being tech-savvy; the 2014 Lok Sabha election saw his team making full use of the medium of the internet and the sweeping victory that ensued. From physically campaigning at rallies to simultaneously being active on social media across platforms, much has already been said about the reach he has among people. Since LinkedIn, is specifically a business-oriented social network service, and Modi, being the pro-business person he his, his presence on LinkedIn could be seen as a well-calculated move to influence professionals and leaders of organisations. PM Modi is always on the go, jet setting not just across the physical world, but in the virtual world as well. His next stop? Guess we'll just have to wait and watch.
