Hours after the latest Shankar- Rajinikanth- Akshay Kumar movie 2.0 hit the screens worldwide, the notorious piracy group Tamil Rockers released the movie on their website on Thursday.
Director Shankar’s magnum opus with a budget of over Rs 450 crore released on Thursday in theatres across the world. Starring superstar Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in lead roles, the movie is a sequel to the movie Enthiran, which was also directed by Shankar and released in 2010.
This move by Tamil Rockers comes despite the Madras High court directing 37 internet service providers (ISPs) across the country to take steps to prevent hosting of Rajinikanth-starrer 2.0 through 12,564 possible uniform resource locators (URLs). This number includes over 2000 sites that belong to Tamil Rockers piracy website. The direction came on a civil suit filed by Lyca Productions and was heard by Justice M Sundar.
Lyca Productions took to Twitter on Thursday after the movie was released, requesting people to watch the movie in a theatre and not succumb to pirated version of the movie. “Hardwork of 4 yrs, crores of money, efforts of 1000s of technicians - all to give you a visual spectacle you can watch, love and enjoy in THEATRES! Do not spoil the experience. SAY NO TO PIRACY! Send all pirated links to antipiracy@aiplex.com & help Tamil cinema shine!,” read the tweet.

Tamil Rockers recently was in the news for having released Murugadoss- Vijay movie Sarkar on the website hours after it premiered. It had in fact announced on its official Twitter handle that it would release a high definition print of the movie on the same day it is released worldwide.
Many fans have taken to social media opposing piracy and Tamil Rockers.
