Popular Kannada actors Meghana Raj and Chiranjeevi Sarja got married in Bengaluru on Sunday.

"It's yet to sink in," the ecstatic couple told The Indian Express. "We have been friends for so long. And we have just got married. The feeling is very surreal."

The couple had a Christian wedding at the St Anthony's Church in Koramangala in the city. They will reportedly also have a Hindu wedding on May 2. The same evening, the couple will host a reception for friends and family.

Chiranjeevi is the brother of actor Dhruv Sarja and nephew of Arjun Sarja. His grandfather is the veteran Kannada actor Shakti Prasad. He made his acting debut with Vayuputra in 2009 and has acted in films such as Chiru, Dandam Dashagunam (Kakka Kakka remake), Varadhanayaka (remake of Lakshayam), Ajith (Remake of Paiyaa), etc.

Meghana Raj is the daughter of the celeb couple Sundar Raj and Pramila. She made her acting debut with the Telugu movie Bendu Apparao R.M.P. in 2009 and has acted in a number of Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil films as well.

The couple have appeared on-screen together in the multi-starrer Aatagara and have also expressed interest in starring in a movie with them in the lead.

Meghana and Chiranjeevi have known each other for over a decade and were said to have been seeing each other for the last few years.

They got engaged in a private ceremony in the city on October 22 last year.

At the time, she had told the media that while she had an inkling that Chiranjeevi would propose to her. "Arjun (uncle) played cupid for us as was the one who spoke to our family members about her relationship. It is the biggest celebration for my family because I’m the only daughter to my parents," she was quoted by The Indian Express as saying.

In another interview, Meghana spoke about how their friendship transformed to love over the years.

"We have always been like that ever since we have known each other. It is almost a decade now after I got introduced to him. Since then, we have been and even known to be as two best friends. He has always been there for me, and we constantly support each other and even seek advice on all matters including the films we take up and discuss a lot about acting career. Moreover films simply run in our blood, as we both come from a family which is closely associated with the film industry for a long time. I guess as days passed by, the special bond bond between us made people around us feel that we were 'made for each other'. And, it just happened over the time,” the actor told Deccan Chronicle.
