No plans as of now for Ayan 2, says director KV Anand

Written by : TNM

Filmmaker KV Anand has clarified that he has no plans of making the sequel to his hit film Ayan, which starred Suriya in the lead. Although Anand had offers to remake Ayan in other languages including Hindi, he wasn’t quite excited about the idea as he feels the process of remake is boring as there’s nothing new to add to the product. He added that he always likes to experiment and that’s why his films are very different and at the same time engaging.

Anand awaits the release of Kavan, which hits the screens next week. The film stars Vijay Sethupathi and veteran actor-filmmaker T. Rajendher in the lead and it’s apparently about TRP wars and how media sensationalizes a story to attract eyeballs.

Rajendher’s casting has raised quite a few eyebrows but Anand believes he’s the pick of the actors in the film. Apparently, Rajendher turned down the offers thrice when Anand approached him. He was quite hesitant because he felt his real-life image would be made fun of, but Anand assured him that he will give him full freedom to experiment with his character.

Vijay Sethupathi has said that Kavan will be a significant film in his career. The film also stars Madonna Sebastian.
