For long, there have been rumours that Ram Gopal Varma may go on to direct a sequel to his smash hit film Rangeela. The 1995 blockbuster has Aamir Khan, Urmila and Jackie Shroff in the lead roles. AR Rahman has composed tunes for the album and it went on to be a bestseller.

Putting all rumours to rest, RGV said during the trailer launch of his upcoming film, Sarkar 3, that it is not true. There are plans to make a sequel for Rangeela, he had earlier said. Well, that’s a disappointment for his fans.

Meanwhile, Sarkar 3, the third instalment of the Sarkar franchise, has a bevy of stars including Amitabh Bachchan, Manoj Bajpayee, Jackie Shroff, Amit Sadh, Yami Gautam, Ronit Roy, and Supriya Pathak in the star cast. Big B will be playing Subhash Nagre, a powerful leader, in the movie.

Produced by Rahul Mittra, Anand Pandit, Gopal Shivram Dalvi, Krishan Choudhary and WeOne under the banners Alumbra Entertainment, Wave Cinemas, COMPANY PRODUCT and AB Corp Ltd, the Sarkar 3 is distributed by Eros International. Ravi Shankar has composed music for this flick. Sarkar 3 is touted to hit the silver screens on April 7 worldwide.
