Nikhil Kumar’s ‘Seetharama Kalyana’ pre-release business shows positive signs

Nikhil Kumar’s upcoming Seetharama Kalyana is one of the high budget movies in the Kannada film industry. The film is made on a budget of Rs 16.5 crore, which is big in Sandalwood. However, reports from trade circles are positive that its pre-release business is fetching its makers a handsome price. Earlier, it has been reported that the Hindi dubbing rights and satellite rights of this film has fetched close to Rs 5.5 crore. Now, reports say that its music rights have also been lapped up and the filmmakers have already made a total of Rs 13 crore!

Starring Nikhil Kumar and Rachita Ram as the lead pair, the film is being directed by A Harsha. It may be noted here that the hero is the son of Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy. Being a production venture from the Karnataka CM’s home banner, Channambika Films, the film is produced by Anita Kumaraswamy.

The star cast of Seetharama Kalyana also includes Girija Lokesh, Tamil star Sarath Kumar, Madhoo, Chikkanna and Ravi Shankar in supporting roles. The technical crew of Seetharama Kalyana will comprise Ravi Basrur to compose the music and J Swamy to crank the camera. According to reports, Girija Lokesh will be seen playing Rachita Ram’s grandmother and Madhoo’s mother in this commercial entertainer.

The shooting for this film is progressing well with a plan to release it during the Republic Day weekend next year. While there are various rumours about this film, including that it is the remake of a hit Telugu flick, sources close to Seetharama Kalyana have clarified that it is an original script. Further, it is said that there are chances of it being remade in Telugu very soon. It may be mentioned here that Nikhil Kumar’s debut film Jaguar was released in Kannada as well as Telugu.
