Nikhil Kumar made his debut as hero with the Kannada movie Jaguar a couple of years ago and is now getting ready for the release of his second film Seetharama Kalyana.

Jaguar had won him the SIIMA Award for Best Debutant Actor (Male) - Kannada and the TSR Film Award for Best Debutant Actor (Male) - Telugu. According to trade sources, though the film was a success at the box office, it was not able to recover its production cost due to high promos.

However, Jaguar was a good launch-pad for the actor and he is now gearing up for the release of Seetharama Kalyana. With the teaser garnering a lot of attention and gaining a record number of hits, the expectations of this film have been high ever since its launch. To keep up this momentum, the filmmakers are leaving no stone unturned in promoting Seetharama Kalayana

A production venture from the Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s home banner Channambika Films, the film is produced by Anita Kumaraswamy and directed by choreographer A Harsha.

While the CM’s son Nikhil Kumar is playing the male lead, the film has Rachita Ram playing the female lead. The others in the cast include the Girija Lokesh, Tamil star Sarath Kumar, Madhoo, Chikkanna and Ravi Shankar in supporting roles.

The technical team of Seetharama Kalyana comprises Ravi Basrur to compose the music and J Swamy to crank the camera. According to reports, Girija Lokesh will be seen playing Rachita Ram’s grandmother and Madhoo’s mother in this commercial entertainer.

While there are various rumours about this film, including the one that it is the remake of a hit Telugu flick, sources close to Seetharama Kalyana have clarified that it is an original script. Seetharama Kalyana’s release date is expected to be out soon.
