A brand new trailer of the Kannada movie Kurukshetra was unveiled by the filmmakers recently and it spells grandeur in every frame. True to the words of its makers that it is the most expensive film to be made in Sandalwood till date, Kurukshetra promises to be visually spectacular. The trailer also aims to do away the disappointment of fans with the previous trailer which had failed to create an impact. With the film slated to hit the marquee on August 2, this new trailer has created the right buzz.

When the first trailer was released, Darshan’s fans expressed their disappointment online. While the comments were disabled on the YouTube page, Twitter was filled with memes and posts from upset fans.

Darshan plays Duryodhana in this mythological drama based on the epic Mahabharata and the story is told from his perspective. Kurukshetra is bankrolled by Muniratna under his banner KCN Movies. The film also has the late star Ambareesh, Arjun Sarja, Sonu Sood, V Ravichandran, Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, Sneha, Hariprriya, Meghana Raj and P Ravi Shankar in pivotal roles. The shooting for the film was completed long back but it has been in the post-production mode due to the extensive VFX works involved.

Kurukshetra, which is directed by Naganna, has an impressive technical crew as well. Jayanan Vincent has cranked the camera for this film with Jo Ni Harsha doing the editing. Inspired by the poem Gadhayuddha, penned by the Kannada poet Ranna, the screenplay for the film is written by JK Bharavi.

Being a high budget film and a mythological, plans are on to release the film in various languages including Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and others.

The shooting for Kurukshetra commenced last year on sets erected for the purpose at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. Most parts of the film were shot on this set, which was built on a budget of several crore rupees.
