A new poster of the upcoming Malayalam film Ambili featuring Naveen Nazim has been unveiled recently. Naveen, brother of well-known actor Nasriya Nazim, is making his acting debut with Ambili. The film has Soubin Shahir in the title role with Tanvi Ram making her acting debut. John Paul George of Guppy fame is the writer and director of the film.

Ambili is touted to be a road drama. We also hear that Naveen will be playing an adventure junkie in it. The new poster shows him riding a bicycle with backpacks tied to the rear end, and wearing a helmet. Sharan Velayudhan is cranking the camera for this movie with Vishnu Vijay wielding the music baton and Kiran Das handling the edits. Vineesh is taking care of the art department with Mahar Hamsa being in charge of costume designing and RG Wayanad as the makeup man. Mukesh R Mehta, AV Anoop and CV Sarathy are jointly producing Ambili under the banner E4 Entertainment.

Three months ago, the first look poster of the film came out, showing Soubin with a wide smile, holding a bunch of flowers in a colourful background. Vettukili Prakash and Jaffer Idukki will be seen playing other important characters. The film will reportedly be shot in the locales of Idukki, Bengaluru, Rann of Kutch, Goa, Rajasthan and Ladakh.

It may be noted here that John Paul George’s debut film Guppy turned out to be a big hit in the Malayalam film industry. The film had Chethan Jayalal and Tovino Thomas in the lead roles, with Sreenivasan, Rohini, Sudheer Karamana, Dileesh Pothan, and Alencier Ley Lopez in supporting roles. It showed the strained relationship between the characters of Tovino, who newly moves into the place, and Chethan, who has a collection of the guppy fish.

At the 47th Kerala State Film Awards, the film went on to win five awards - Best Child Artist - Chethan Jayalal, Best Background Music - Vishnu Vijay, Best Male Singer - Sooraj Santhosh, Best Costume Designer - Stephy Savier and Special Mention - Girish Gangadharan.
