Lyricist-turned-singer, Arunraja Kamaraj, who rose to fame with the chartbuster “Neruppu da” in the Rajinikanth-starrer “Kabali” and the electrifying “Theri” track in Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s “Theri” is all set to collaborate with Yuvan Shankar Raja for the first time.

The duo will work together on the upcoming Jai-Anjali starrer “Balloon”, directed by debutant Sinish. Arunraja will be penning lyrics for all the songs for the film, and will also be singing one of them. He will be penning a romantic song for the first time.

The buzz around “Balloon” has grown after composer Yuvan Shankar Raja was roped in to compose the background score and songs for the film. Yuvan, who is back after a break, has his hands full with the sequel to “Chennai 28”, Selvaragavan’s “Nenjam Marappathillai”, “AAA”, “Kadamban”, and “Sandakozhi 2”, besides “Balloon”.

Touted to be a romantic-horror, “Balloon” is partly set in the 1980s. The film is being produced by TN Arunbalaji and Kandasamy Nandhakumar. The makers plan to wrap up shooting for the film by the end of October.
