But how does one respond to a beauty contest that is named after a place where one million people – Jews, to be precise – were killed?According to website Vocativ, a Russian and Ukrainian Nazis have a page on VKontakte, Russia’s equivalent of Facebook, which pays tribute to Adolf Hitler. So what friendly activities does this Vkontakte group organize? An online beauty pageant in which Nazi women who hate Jews can post selfies of themselves to win the Miss Ostland 2014 title. What is Ostland? Vocative describes it as “ the Nazi civilian occupation regime of the Baltic states in 1941 in which more than a million Jews were murdered.Have a look at the participants, their interests and views on Jews, Nazis and history at Vocativ. Here's a sample: "Just to give an idea of what we’re dealing with here, the content on “Adolf Hitler” is so offensive, it borders on trolling. Users have posted cookies with swastikas painted on them in frosting, jokes about gas chambers and memes with pro-Hitler babies."
