Nag Ashwin turns producer with ‘Jaathi Ratnalu’

Nag Ashwin who directed the critically acclaimed biopic on legendary actor Savitri titled Mahanati, is all set to turn a producer. He will be bankrolling a comedy entertainer in which Naveen Polishetty will be playing the lead role alongside Rahul Ramakrishna and Priyadarshi. Those in the supporting roles include Murali Sharma, Tanikella Bharani, Vennela Kishore, and VK Naresh. KV Anudeep will be making his directorial debut with this flick titled Jaathi Ratnalu. The first look motion poster of this film was unveiled recently which showed all the three actors in prison uniform.

A press statement released by the production states: “It’s a crazy combination and the film is an out-and-out entertainer. About 75 per cent of the shoot is completed and the entire proceedings will be wrapped by this year-end.”

Naveen Polishetty started this year with Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya directed by Swaroop RSJ. Naveen played the lead role in the film and has co-written it along with the director.

The actor made his Bollywood debut this year with the Nitesh Tiwari directorial Chhichhore, a comic caper. It may be noted here that the director is well known for wielding the megaphone for the hit movie Dangal, starring Aamir Khan.

Chhichhore had Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles with Varun Sharma and Tahir Raj Bhasin in pivotal roles. Amalendu Chaudhary was roped in to crank the camera for the flick. Sajid Nadiadwala bankrolled the venture under the banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. The film hit the marquee on September 6th this year.
