Murali Gopy’s Kaattu will have him play the role of Chellappan. The character that the star is playing in the movie was revealed recently and the news has gone viral. Stating that his character is ‘unapologetically characterised’ the actor had pointed out that it is a very unique one and that the audiences will find it intriguing. According to the buzz, Murali Gopy will be playing a role that he hasn’t played so far in his long career.

Kaattu, directed by Arun Kumar Aravind, is set in the late 1970s which is bound to have the audiences enthralled. Sources close to film unit say that the sets created to resemble that era will be its USP.

While this is one of the most important films in his career, Murali Gopy is also expecting the release of the Prithviraj and Indrajith starrer Tiyaan, which will be out in the silver screen on July 7th. Apart from this, Murali Gopy also has films such as Kammara Sambhavam, directed by Rathish Ambat and Kamal’s Aami in different stages of productions.

Murali Gopy, a well known film personality in the Malayalam film industry, is an accomplished screenwriter, author, singer and journalist as well. He has numerous awards to his credit including Asianet Film Award, Asiavision Movie Awards, Filmfare Awards South, South Indian International Movie Awards, and Amrita Film Award. He made his acting debut with the 2004 release Rasikan and has acted in several films since then including Ee Adutha Kaalathu, Left Right Left, Vedivazhipadu, and Ezhu Sundara Rathrikal.
