Mukesh turns playback singer for ‘Rameshan Oru Peralla’

For the first time ever, actor-politician Mukesh will turn playback singer for a film! The actor will be rendering a song in the upcoming film Rameshan Oru Peralla. In his career spanning well over four decades, he had never done playback singing until now. This is touted to be a Goan-type song which has been composed by Gemini Unnikrishnan.

Directed by Sujith Vigneshwar, Rameshan Oru Peralla will have Manikandan Pattambi playing the title role. He will be appearing as a taxi driver, report sources. We hear that the film will be a suspense thriller. Reportedly, the film will be about the flaws in the legal system of our country.

Besides Manikandan Pattambi, the film also has Mukesh’s nephew Divyadarshan in an important role. Rajesh Sharma, Krishnakumar, Krishnan Balakrishnan, and Arun Nair are the other actors in the film. Cinematography is by Sunil Prem.

Mukesh was last seen in the Malayalam movie Kalyanam which was written and directed by Rajesh Nair. The film, released last year, also had Shravan Mukesh, Varsha Bollamma, and Sreenivasan in the cast.

The actor is currently busy with the magnum opus Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, directed by Priyadarshan. Apparently, Mukesh will be playing a warrior in this film.

The movie, with Mohanlal in the lead and made on a budget of Rs 100 crore, will be produced jointly by Antony Perumbavoor, Santhosh T Kuruvilla and CJ Roy under their respective banners Aashirvad Cinemas, Confident Group and Moonshot Entertainment. The film is based on the true life of Kunjali Marakkar IV. The title ‘Kunjali Marakkar’ was bestowed on naval chiefs during the 16th century who fought valiantly against the Portuguese army. There were four Kunjali Marakkars during that era, of which the fourth is the most valiant and popular. The film’s technical crew includes cinematographer Tirru and editor MS Ayyappan Nair.
