Mohanlal's ‘Villain’ set to break one record set by ‘Pulimurugan’ on opening day?

The Mohanlal starrer Villain is set to break quite a few records and one of it would be the record held by the star’s Pulimurugan that was released last year. There were 125 shows screened exclusively for Mohanlal’s fans on the day Pulimurugan hit the marquee and now Villain is all set to break this record by screening over 130 fan shows. Reports are that the fans associations have managed to get about 120 screens till now and this is expected to increase in the forthcoming days.

Villain is a cop thriller that has Mohanlal playing the lead role. He will be seen playing an ex-cop returning back to the forces on an important assignment. Directed by B Unnikrishnan, Villain has a bevy of stars in the cast. Tamil star Vishal will be making his acting debut in Villain along with Hansika Motwani. Tollywood actor Raashi Khanna would also be seen playing a pivotal role and Manju Warrier will be playing the female lead in it.

The rest of the star cast also includes Srikanth, Siddique, Renji Panicker, Aju Varghese, Chemban Vinod Jose, Anand, Idavela Babu, Kottayam Nazeer, Balaji Sarma and Antony Perumbavoor. Villain is bankrolled by Rockline Venkatesh under his banner Rockline Entertainments Pvt Ltd and this happens to be his maiden production venture in the Malayalam film industry.

Villain is a stylish and technically slick film. It has been shot in the 8K resolution camera and will be released in the same format.

The film’s background score has been composed by Sushin Shyam while the original soundtrack has been composed by the music group 4 Musics (Jim Jacob, Biby Matthew, Eldhose Alias, and Justin James). Manoj Paramahamsa had cranked the camera for this film with Shameer Mohammed editing it.
