The shooting of the Mohanlal starrer Ittymaani: Made in China began a couple of months ago and is progressing well. According to the latest reports, the team is currently in China where the final schedule is on. A picture of Mohanlal in China has been circulating online much to the delight of his fans. “China has significance in a story that is set in Kunnamkulam, where you get all types of duplicate goods,” said director Joju in an interview to the Times of India.

Ittymaani: Made in China is directed by debut directors Jibi and Joju and bankrolled by Anthony Perumbavoor under his banner Aashirvad Cinemas. The title poster of the film was unveiled some time ago and it featured a laughing Buddha indicating that it will be a comic caper. Speaking about the film, one its directors, Joju, said in an interview earlier, “It’s a total fun movie that would remind the audience of Lalettan’s yesteryear superhits such as Vellanakalude Naadu, Chithram and Kilukkam.”

A poster revealed a couple of months ago showed Mohanlal in Margam Kali costume, dancing with 512 others, in front of a church. Radikaa Sarathkumar, who had acted opposite him in the 1985 film Koodum Thedi, will also act in this film.

Mohanlal also has the film Big Brother directed by Siddique in his kitty. The film has the Bollywood actor Arbaaz Khan along with Anoop Menon, Sarjano Khalid, Satna Titus and others in the cast. While Mohanlal, Anoop Menon and Sarjano Khalid play brothers in this flick, Arbaaz will be seen as a police officer.

Meanwhile, the post-production of Mohanlal’s upcoming film Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, directed by Priyadarshan, is also going on. The film is based on the true life of Kunjali Marakkar IV. The title ‘Kunjali Marakkar’ was bestowed on naval chiefs during the 16th century and these naval chiefs fought valiantly against the Portuguese army. There were four Kunjali Marakkars during that era, of which the fourth is the most valiant and popular.
