Mohanlal says he learnt and understood Telugu in a week for Manamantha

Written by : TNM

It took Malayalam superstar Mohanlal just one week to learn, understand and speak in Telugu for his upcoming trilingual project, Manamantha. Directed by National award-winning filmmaker Chandrasekhar Yeleti, the project marks the comeback of Mohanlal to Telugu filmdom after nearly two decades.

During a recent media interaction, expressing his happiness on being part of the film and on dubbing in his own voice in Telugu, Lal said that the project is his first full-length Telugu film and he’s extremely happy to be part of the project.

“This was my first attempt at learning Telugu, and all that it took me to understand and speak the language was just one week. The whole dubbing process in my own voice took about 68 hours and I thoroughly enjoyed the process,” Lal said, while addressing the media. Flooded with Telugu offers since he worked with Jr. NTR in Janatha Garage, Lal said that he’s not in a hurry to sign projects.

Manamantha, which also stars veteran actress Gauthami, is slated for release on Thursday. The film also releases in Tamil as Namathu and in Malayalam as Vismayam.
