Mohanlal’s Villain teaser out, film promises to be an action thriller

The teaser of the Mohanlal starrer Villain is out and it promises to be a thriller loaded with action sequences. Directed by B Unnikrishnan, the shooting of the film commenced in February with Mohanlal joining the sets in March. While the team is busy with the shooting, the teaser that has been released has gone viral. Noted produced Rockline Venkatesh, who has produced films like the Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Rajinikanth’s Lingaa, is foraying into the Malayalam film industry with Villain.

Mohanlal plays a retired police officer Mathew Manjooran and the film has a bevy of stars, including Manju Warrier, Vishal, Allu Arjun, Srikanth, Renji Panicker, Siddique, Aju Varghese, Chemban, Vinod Jose, Vinayakan and Raashi Khanna in important roles.

According to sources, Raashi Khanna, who will be debuting in Mollywood with this flick, has a meaty role with shades of grey. Also, Vishal, one of the leading actors in Kollywood, who is donning multiple hats such as the President of the Tamil Film Producers’ Council and General Secretary of the South Indian Film Artistes Association, will be making his debut in Mollywood with a crucial supporting role. It may be mentioned here that Mohanlal and Manju Warrier are sharing the screen space for the fifth time with Villain as they have worked together in Aaram Thampuran, Summer in Bethlehem, Kanmadham and Ennum Eppozhum.

The songs for the album will be composed by 4 Musics and the background music will be helmed by Prashant Pillai. Manoj Paramahamsa is cranking the camera for Villain with Shameer Mohammed being roped in as the editor. Being an action-oriented film, three stunt directors, Peter Hein, Stunt Silva, and Ravi Varma, are working on the film. With the director planning to wrap the shooting within a two-month period, plans are afoot to release the movie on July 21, 2017.
