Written by : TNM

Reports that the Mohanlal starrer Randamoozham will have the Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan in the star cast have been confirmed. The film’s director Sreekumar has acknowledged that the Big B has been roped in to play a crucial role in the film.

An adaptation of MT Vasudevan Nair’s novel by the same title, the film will be made in two parts on a humongous budget of Rs. 600 crores. The story is a retelling of the Mahabharatha from Bhima's perspective. While Mohanlal will be seen playing Bhima in Randamoozham, Amitabh Bachchan will be seen as Bishma.

The director is in the process of finalising the rest of the cast and crew. He also refuted rumours about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan being a part of this magnum opus. With a lot of war sequences involved, the filmmaker has roped in Hollywood stunt director Peter Hein to choreograph the fights.

Mohanlal’s 1971: Beyond Borders is due for release on April 7th, and he is currently busy with the shooting of the B Unni Krishnan directorial, Villain. The actor had announced that his next will be Odiyan. With a continuous line-up of films, Randamoozham is expected to go on the floors later this year or early 2018.
