Mohanlal starrer Drama is gearing up for release on November 1st on the occasion of Kerala Piravi Day and it will be getting a very big opening with plans to release the film in about 250 screens in the state alone.

Mohanlal is playing a family man in the film, expected to be a feel-good entertainer with loads of family sentiments. Drama, scripted and directed by Ranjith, has been shot extensively in the UK and will be about the life of the NRIs and their families living abroad. Mohanlal and Asha Sarath play husband and wife in the movie and it is a film that will be rich with family sentiments and emotions, say sources in the know. The two actors have earlier worked together in films such as DrishyamMunthirivallikal ThalirkkumbolKarmayodha and 1971: Beyond Borders.

The cast of Drama also includes Arundhathi Nag, Siddique, Niranj, Mythili, Shalin Zoya, Tini Tom and Baiju. We also hear that three directors - Dileesh Pothen, Shyama Prasad and Johny Antony – are playing pivotal roles in the film.

Vinu Thomas is scoring the music and he has got Mohanlal singing a song ‘Pandaro Cholleettille’ in the film. The song features some behind-the-scenes visuals of Drama with the technicians and others.

Cinematography of the film is done by Azhagappan.  The movie is bankrolled by MK Nassar and Maha Subair under the banners Lilypad Motion Pictures and Varnachithra Good Line Productions.

It may be noted here that Mohanlal and Ranjith have a good track record at the box office, which may bring up the expectations for Drama. They had first teamed up for Ravanaprabhu in 2001 and worked together in films such as Chandrolsavam in 2005, Rock N' Roll in 2007, Spirit in 2012, Kadal Kadannu Oru Maathukutty in 2013 (cameo appearance), and Loham in 2015.
