It’s good news for Mohanlal’s fans out there. The superstar’s two films, Big Brother and Ittymaani: Made in China were launched in two separate events on April 25th.

The official pooja of Big Brother happened with actor Siddique and music composer Deepak Dev gracing the event, among others. Big Brother is directed by filmmaker Siddique (not the actor). The last time that the director worked with Mohanlal was in 2013 for Ladies and Gentlemen.

Meanwhile, the shooting of Mohanlal starrer Ittymaani: Made in China also began with much fanfare. Earlier, Mohanlal had revealed that he will be teaming up with debut directors Jibi and Joju for Ittimani: Made in China and that he would be joining the sets on April 25th in Thrissur. Reports are that some important portions of this film will be canned in Singapore after this schedule is over. The venture will be bankrolled by Anthony Perumbavoor under his banner Aashirvad Cinemas. The title poster featuring a laughing Buddha was released some time ago.

Veteran actor Radhikaa Sarathkumar will also be seen in a pivotal role in Ittimani: Made in China in which Mohanlal plays a Thrissur native. “It’s a total fun movie that would remind the audience of Lalettan’s yesteryear superhits such as Vellanakalude Naadu, Chithram and Kilukkam,” Joju, one of the directors of the film, said earlier to the Times of India. Touted to be an action comedy, the film has Honey Rose playing the female lead. Other actors in the film include Dharmajan and Hareesh Kanaran in supporting roles. The cinematography for this film is handled by Shaji Kumar.

Meanwhile, Mohanlal’s Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham is in post production stage and will release early next year.
