Right from the time the teaser of Ezra was launched, there was huge speculation that Mohanlal was playing a role in it. The teaser showed the silhouette of a man carrying a paper with the words: “The spirit of Abraham Ezra dislocated from his body 1941 AD,” written on it.

Fans believed that this silhouette could be Mohanlal as it strongly resembled the star. But with the film releasing on February 10, 2017, director Jay K confirmed that it is not Mohanlal. He also revealed that it is Prithviraj himself.

In Ezra, Prithiviraj plays the title role with Priya Anand as his lead pair. The horror film also has Tovino Thomas, Sudev Nair, Vijayaraghavan, Sujith Shanker, Pratap K. Pothen, Babu Antony, Alencier Lopez in the star cast. Produced by AV Anoop, Mukesh R. Mehta, and CV Sarathy under the banner AVA productions, the film is being distributed by E4 Entertainment. The film’s album features three songs scored by Rahul Raj and Sushin Shyam.

Based on a Jewish story, the film is about the paranormal activities that the CEO of a shipping firm experiences. Prithviraj plays the CEO who steps into Kochi from Mumbai and the story is about the problems he undergoes right from the day he lands there.
