Mohanlal in his hometown for Unnikrishnan’s 'Villain'

The success of his latest outing Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol has Mohanlal basking in glory as he has had three films  - Janatha Garage, Pulimurgan and Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol  - turning out to be box office hits in a row. Expecting the release of 1971: Beyond Borders on April 7, 2017, the star is busy on the sets of his upcoming release, Villain, directed by B Unnikrishnan.

The team is currently camping in Tiruvananthapuram, which also happens to be Mohanlal’s hometown. The shooting of Villain commenced late last month and Mohanlal had joined the sets early this month.

Produced by Rockline Venkatesh under the banner Rockline Entertainments Pvt Ltd., acclaimed cinematographer, Manoj Paramahamsa, is cranking the camera for this flick. While Mohanlal plays the lead role in the film, the star cast also includes Manju Warrier, Vishal, Hansika Motwani, Renji Panicker, Srikanth, Raashi Khanna and Aju Varghese. Incidentally, with Villain, Vishal will be foraying into the Malayalam film industry.

According to sources, Mohanlal plays a retired cop. Touted to be an action entertainer, Hollywood stunt director Peter Hein has been roped in co-ordinate with Stunt Silva to choreograph the stunts.
