Reports that Mohanlal and Prakash Raj will be sharing screen space in Odiyan certainly have fans waiting in anticipation for the film. While this flick will start rolling only after Mohanlal is done with Villain, which is being directed by B Unnikrishnan, reports that Prakash Raj has also been roped in for a pivotal role, has had movie buffs elated.

In fact, the duo formed a formidable combo on screen in the Mani Ratnam directorial Iruvar, which was loosely based on the lives of three Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu - MGR, Karunanidhi, and Jayalalithaa.

Wielding the megaphone for Odiyan will be VA Shrikumar Menon. Touted to be the most expensive film in the history of Malayalam cinema, Odiyan will mark the coming together of Mohanlal and Prakash after nearly two decades. Manju Warrier has been roped in to play the female lead.

According to a PTI report, the director said, “This is going to be a film, the story of which has never been a subject of Indian cinema before. It will be adapted in Tamil and Telugu as well.”
