Janatha Garage, starring Jr NTR and Mohanlal, is the most watched film on television in the year 2016, according to the Broadcasting Audience Research Council (BARC). The film was directed by Koratala Siva. According to the BARC, the film got the highest number of viewer impressions whenever it was telecast on TV.

According to reports, Janatha Garage, took a massive opening on its release on September 1st, 2016 and is the second highest grosser at the box office till date with the first being Baahubali.

In just six days since its release, this multi-starrer had grossed around Rs 90 crore, making it the second-fastest Telugu film to cross the Rs 50-crore benchmark. Even outside Andhra and Telangana the film was praised for successfully bringing together Mohanlal and Jr NTR, two superstars from different industries, in a single frame.

Starring Samantha and Nithya Menen as the female leads, the film had music scored by Devi Sri Prasad. Other notable actors who starred in the film are Suresh, Sithara, and Devayani. Kajal Agarwal had made a cameo appearance in the ‘Pakka Local’ song which went on to become a huge hit.
