Tollywood mega star Chiranjeevi’s 151st  film, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy went on the floors amidst much fanfare on August 22 to coincide with the star’s birthday. While it was said that the shooting would commence in September there are no signs of it starting in October either.

Enquiries about the progress of the film revealed that the shooting will begin in November as the team is waiting for cinematographer Rathnavelu to complete his current assignment, the Ram Charan Teja starrer Rangasthalam. Earlier, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy team had roped in cinematographer Ravi Varman to wield the camera. However, t he walked out of the project, following which DOP Rathnavelu was signed up for the multi-mega starrer.

With this being the scenario now, the Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy team has no option but to wait for Rangasthalam to be wrapped so that they could have the undivided attention of cameraman Rathnavelu.

Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, will be directed by G Surender Reddy. The film is based on the biopic of freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy, one of the first freedom fighters from Andhra to raise a war flag against the British. He was hanged to death by the British in the 18th century.

Starring Chiranjeevi in the title role, the film also has an impressive star cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Jagapathi Babu, Sudeep, Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Pragya Jaiswal. The Oscar winning music composer AR Rahman will be composing the tunes for this flick and Rameshwar S. Bhagat has been signed up for editing.

Presented by Surekha Konidela, the film is produced by Ram Charan under their home banner Konidela Production Company on a budget of Rs. 150 crores. Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is touted to be a multilingual film with plans on to release in Telugu, Hindi, etc.
