The Kannada film Mathe Udbhava, which is yet to hit the marquee, is all set to be remade in Tamil and Telugu. And, the film’s remake rights have been sold even before its release; thanks to its strong content. Reports are that Mohan Das Pai of Dheeraj Enterprises has bagged the remake rights and has set the ball rolling for the remake. The project is still in the initial stages with the filmmakers roping in the star cast and crew. The remake will be made to suit the sensibilities of the Tamil and Telugu audiences.

Mathe Udbhava, starring Pramod and Milana Nagaraj, was directed by Koldlu Ramakrishna. It is the sequel to the hit Kannada movie Udbhava and unlike most other sequels, the story will begin at the point where the first part ended. On this, the director has said in an interview to the New Indian Express, “Going by what today’s generation looks out for, I have diverted the subject from a class project to a mass one, and I will bring in episodes that are close to real-life in this commercial subject.” The director added that he had been looking for a suitable production house to make the sequel and eventually Panther Creations came forward.

In the sequel, Ranghayana Raghu will be playing the role done by Anant Nag in Udbhava. The film, which is bankrolled under the banner Panther Creations, is in the post-production mode and its release is expected to be within a couple of weeks.

Udbhava, released in 1990, starred Balkrishna and Anant Nag in the lead roles with Ashwath and Sundar Raj in pivotal roles. The film was about Raganna, a jobless man, his nagging wife and two sons.
