Mani Ratnam’s Kaatru Veliyidai to release in March 2017

Written by : TNM

The shoot of ace filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s Kaatru Veliyidai, starring Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari, has reached its fag end except for a song which will soon be canned across exotic locations in Europe.

On Sunday, the makers officially announced that the much-anticipated film will hit the screens worldwide next year in March, contrary to reports that it will be released during the Valentine’s Day weekend.

Featuring Karthi in the role of a fighter pilot and Aditi as a doctor, the film is largely shot against the backdrop of Leh and Ladakh, apart from minor portions in Ooty and Chennai. Unlike Ratnam’s earlier films, sources have revealed that this one won’t be a quintessential romantic saga as it features elements of thrill and action that will leave audiences in awe. One of the highlights of the film will be an action sequence shot in Leh, against the backdrop of the mountains.

Also starring RJ Balaji, Shraddha Srinath, Delhi Ganesh and Lalitha among others, the film has music by AR Rahman and cinematography by Ravi Varman.
